DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICES
Require Database administrator (DBA) to complement the internal team that ensures that the IT server and systems infrastructure is optimally provisioned and runs smoothly for our key systems at all stages of the service lifecycle. This requires close follow up with both internal stakeholders and external vendors. We work in a DevOps workflow supporting 100+ systems with production critical databases and services running in AWS public cloud.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
* Ensuring the availability, performance, scalability and security of systems and databases:
Performing and automating daily operational tasks
* Working collaboratively with system management, development and other teams to deploy, automate, maintain and operate cloud-based solutions and infrastructure
* Investigate SQL queries and stored procedures to identify bottlenecks and performance speed-bumps and present improvements when applicable
* Troubleshooting and resolving incidents and problems, performing changes
* Continuously improving database platform and service deliveries by automating and streamlining operations and processes
* Work with resolver teams to expedite changes or fix underlying problems causing incidents
* Being proactive, identifying negative trends and suggest mitigations
* Continuously improving DevOps processes and tools
* Act as main Point of Contact for specific systems or projects

MAIN QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
* University degree in Information Computing or other equivalent technical discipline with strong academic records and 3+ years' experience working with IT database management. Long and relevant experience may compensate for formal education
* Proven Database Administration knowledge in MS SQL and Oracle database and infrastructure as well as other well-known database engines
* Experience with public cloud platforms (Primarily AWS)
* Knowledge of DevOps practices, including a broad range of automation technologies for activities including infrastructure automation, deployment orchestration and configuration management
* Experience with SQL Server Analysis services (or similar) and any NoSQL products is an advantage
* Minimum 3 years' experience with Microsoft Windows server technologies
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
