Title: SAP Basis Manager
Location: West Chester, PA
Direct reports estimated at 5 located into US and Germany. We are expecting this Leader to help develop our team and capabilities in SAP Platforms engineering. He/She champions the usage of tools and best practices for SAP basis engineering. This role supports global projects and initiatives, integrates IT strategies, key goals, and objectives to meet business needs in alignment with company strategies and core values. Fosters and maintains productive relationships with business partners, SAP COE, global, regional and local IT colleagues. Manages third parties (internal & external) who provide software and services.
This role will require partnering with the Enterprise Application Value Streams, other Enterprise Platform leaders (including the Enterprise Platforms Architect), Application Development, Core Engineering, Operations and Information Security teams to deliver an agile team that provides end-to-end SAP platform engineering filling any gaps that exist between silos. He/She supports production operations for all SAP Production systems such as SAP FI/MM,GRC, BW, HR, CA, Solution Manager and S4/HANA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides the technical oversight and leadership necessary to accomplish work with occasional hand-on involvement.
Provides input to financial and people resource plans for the area. Ensures resources are in place and operating effectively within the technical discipline.
Develops work plans and priorities for their area, based on objectives received.
Makes hiring recommendations.
Responsible for all performance-related activities, including performance reviews. Provides input to compensation decisions.
Develops portfolio roadmaps to convey the current and future state vision and status of their portfolios.
Ensures SOPs/checklists are in-place and followed, coordinate strategic initiatives, performance tuning, and perform basis administration tasks for all SAP systems for on premise as well as Azure cloud.
Ensures root-cause analysis is completed and learnings are integrated into new or revised SOPs.
Resolves technical and business issues escalated from their team successfully. Appropriately escalates to their manager only issues of significant risk, sensitivity and impact on the business.
Implement application installations, upgrades, enhancements, patches as needed and coordinate with technical, functional teams and business users.
Improves work procedures and processes for their area continually.
Assists in the development and presentation of various analysis to management (e.g., organizational, systems, feasibility, cost/benefit studies, implementation plans).
Manages the resolution of issues across the IT domains, partnering with their IT peers.
Is seen as expert within the SAP basis domain and in respect to small sized organization lives a hands on mentality to peer up with team.
Manages conflicting priorities and allocations and escalates as appropriate.
Partners with clients to identify technology requirements and provide solutions. Develops strong relationships with clients and team to develop solutions.
Is seen by business partners and SAP COE as a key resource to escalate problems and to receive guidance and complete solutions.
Tailors communication of highly technical information to business partners.
Leads the effort to engage external contract personnel.
May manage projects or initiatives, within their technical discipline.
Creating and managing to financial budgets.
Executing established plans for initiatives.
Ensuring resources and organization structure are in place and operating effectively.
Anticipating conflicting needs and proactively resolving them.
Prioritizes work, monitors work quality, reviews output and ensures that team members are equipped to successfully deliver the work of their area.
Is accountable for achieving budget objectives for team and managing team's financial forecasts.
Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
Minimum ten years of experience in SAP Basis Administration
Experience in working Agile following methodologies Kanban and Scrum
High profile SAP Basis experience in supporting components SAP ECC, BW, PI/PO, So
Technical Job knowledge:
Experience in SAP S/4 HANA end-to-end implementations on Cloud platform, Azure cloud technology preferred.
Practical experience in administration of SAP SOLMAN, Fiori, SAP GRC, SAP Data Services, SAP BW/4 HANA & SAP PI/PO etc.
Expertise in Technical Planning, Installations and Configurations, Upgrades, OS/DB Migrations, SSO configuration, installation of SSL certificates.
Demonstrated architecture and design expertise with enterprise server and storage networking projects in support of SAP in large-scale environments
Experience with Content Server and data archiving.
Proven ability of working as part of a team to provide the optimal solution for both business needs and project standards
