Manage day-to-day aspects of all business applications, primarily SAP, including support, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, development, upgrades, and enhancements.
Work closely with the IT Director and business functions to develop IT strategy in support of overall business strategy and goals.
Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the IT applications team of 10+ professionals.
Lead design and development of applications architecture to support current and future business needs.
Business continuity and disaster planning for business critical systems, including working with infrastructure and business teams to produce and sustain practical solutions.
Manage and support business software solutions, working with other teams as needed.
Manage application and data security addressing internal and external threats.
Manage software development resources, including the decision process of appropriateness of development versus using existing application functionality or entirely new solutions.
Evaluation and prioritization of multiple, sometimes conflicting project requests.
Critically evaluate requests that impact systems and ensure sufficient end-to-end process understanding before making decisions and changes.
Work with other departments both within and outside of IT to provide world class solutions to support the business.
Project leadership of all applications projects.
Ownership of software development lifecycle methodologies and the selection of the appropriate use of these for the opportunity at hand.
Applications testing and testing methodology, and issue/bug management
Application change control.
Documentation from the detailed technical level up, including the ability to present complicated topics in layman's terms.
Identify and recommend process improvements to optimize systems quality and availability.
Conduct regular system health checks and audits, and provide key metrics and service levels for applications
Manage budget, timelines, and high quality deliverables.
Career progression for this position is considered as a potential successor to the IT Director.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management of Informational Systems or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years of continuous IT and business/industry work experience with at least 5 years of experience in managing multiple, medium to large, cross-functional teams and projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to analyze situations, respond independently, prioritize to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and be a team player while maintaining a positive attitude.
Strong business and financial acumen.
Extensive experience with and knowledge of data integration strategy, architecture, implementation and support.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex business strategy and technology projects as well as develop successful solutions to multi-faceted issues as they arise.
Strong work ethic, drive with a commitment to get things done.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (24/7/365) with multiple responsibilities.
Strong functional skills (ideally also technical) and experience in multiple of the following areas:
SAP ECC (FICO, MM, PP/PPPI, WM, SD, PM, QM, EHS)
SAP BW, BOBJ, and other SAP reporting tools
EDI & B2B Solutions
Database Platforms supporting SAP solutions (MS SQL Server, SAP HANA)

Master's degree in a relevant discipline.

Discrete and Process manufacturing industry expertise (food).
Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and integration of them to SAP.
Work is performed in an office setting.
Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
